Biography

Jeff Bennett is an American voice actor who was born in Houston, Texas, and trained at the Alley Theatre there before moving to California in 1990. His first voice-over role was Horace I.Q. Boothroyd the Third in James Bond Jr. He went on to voice Brooklyn in Gargoyles, Petrie in The Land Before Time series, and Dexter's Dad in Dexter's Laboratory. In 1995 he took on what became his best-known part, the title character in Johnny Bravo, using an Elvis Presley impersonation; the series ran from 1997 to 2004. He voiced Kowalski in The Penguins of Madagascar, winning an Annie Award in 2012, and won a Daytime Emmy in 2016 for Transformers: Rescue Bots. From 2006 to 2022 he played the Man with the Yellow Hat in Curious George, and he voiced Clank in Tinker Bell (2008).
