Plot summary
Queer Duck wakes from a late night party and sees a commercial for the theme park Happyland. He declares a gay day at the park, and officials shut the outing down, telling the group to leave because they are gay. Soaking in bed, he wonders what the point of being homosexual is when almost everyone seems against it. At work he meets Lola Buzzard, a Broadway actress, and encourages her to take to the stage again. His crush on her leaves him deciding whether to stay gay or turn straight, while his partner of eighteen months, Openly Gator, wants him to accept himself without change.

- Queer Duck: The Movie began as an animatic built from 105 separate Flash files, one for each scene, and was animated in Adobe Flash in director Xeth Feinberg's spare bedroom with a handful of freelancers and a background artist.
- Queer Duck: The Movie was originally going to be produced and aired by Showtime, but after the network quit supporting gay shows the series was dropped and the film became a full Icebox production.
- Writer-creator Mike Reiss struggled to finance Queer Duck: The Movie; several deals that almost went through came mainly from independent film companies, and it took over two years to find a distributor until Paramount Home Video offered to distribute it.
