Plot summary
After avenging his father and taking the Number 1 headband, Afro Samurai lives without purpose, carving wooden sculptures of historical figures and staying away from duels. Jinno, his adoptive brother, now an emotionless cyborg, arrives with his sister, Lady Sio. The two beat Afro severely, take the headband and the mandible of his dead father, Rokutaro. Sio tells him they mean to bring Rokutaro back and turn him into an instrument of vengeance, and she challenges Afro to claim the Number 2 headband if he still has the will to fight. To face them, Afro must have his sword reforged and go looking for the holder of the Number 2.
