Plot summary
One month after the Huns are defeated, Mushu serves again as a guardian spirit, to the annoyance of the Fa family ancestors. General Li Shang proposes to Mulan and she accepts. The ancestors warn Mushu that if Mulan marries into the Li family, its ancestors take over as her guardians and he loses his position. The Emperor then calls the couple in: the Mongols threaten China, and he plans an alliance with Qui Gong by sending his three daughters, Ting-Ting, Mei and Su, to marry its princes. Mulan and Shang are ordered to guard the princesses on the road, with Yao, Ling and Chien-Po accompanying them. Uneasy about arranged marriage, Mulan agrees to the mission. Mushu joins the party to pull Mulan and Shang apart, and Cri-Kee tries to stop him.

- In early 2002, Disney was reported to be working on Mulan III, with Raymond Singer and Eugenia Bostwick-Singer, writers of the first film, submitting two stories that suggested a new character named Ana Ming. The sequel was to be released direct-to-video but was canceled before Mulan II came out.
