Plot summary
Wendy Darling is grown up in wartime London, married to a soldier named Edward and raising two children, Jane and Danny. Edward leaves to fight, and Wendy tells the children about her adventures with Peter Pan in Never Land, hoping to lift their spirits. Danny believes her; Jane refuses to. On Danny's fourth birthday, Wendy learns the children will be evacuated to the country the next morning, and Jane argues against going. That night Captain Hook and his pirate crew land their ship, take Jane for Wendy, and carry her to Never Land to lure Peter into a trap. Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- Due to the first film's controversy, Native Americans are completely absent from the sequel, though teepees and totem poles appear in one scene, and the mermaids are given brassieres because their first-film appearances were considered sexualized.
- Kathryn Beaumont, the original voice of Wendy, recorded dialogue for the sequel but was replaced by Soucie because Beaumont's voice had aged.
- The project began as Peter and Jane, a sequel to Peter Pan intended as the first theatrical release from Disney Animation Canada, which worked on it until the studio shut down in fall 1999; now a direct-to-video release, production moved to Walt Disney Animation Australia and Walt Disney Animation Japan.
