Plot summary
Dexter is a boy genius with a laboratory and a rival, Mandark, who tries to steal his invention, the Neurotomic Protocore. Mandark fails, and Dexter returns to his work until his sister Dee Dee gets in the way. Sent off, she wanders into a time machine in the lab. Robots come through that same machine, and Dexter destroys them with the gadgets he keeps around. Their words stay with him: they came to destroy whoever saved the future. Wanting to know how cool he becomes, he travels forward in time. The first period he visits holds a tall, weak adult version of himself designing cubicles, with Mandark as the successful boss and the Neurotomic Protocore sitting in a box on the floor.
