Plot summary
Centuries ago, an Aztec warlord named Yaotl opened a portal that gave him immortality, petrified his four generals and let thirteen monsters loose on the world. Since the Shredder fell, the turtle brothers have gone their separate ways, and Master Splinter worries that the family is coming apart. Leonardo trains in Central America, where villagers call him the Ghost of the Jungle; Donatello runs a computer support business; Michelangelo entertains at birthday parties. Their friend April O'Neil, who runs a shipping company with Casey Jones, delivers a statue to the tycoon Max Winters, and he hires the Foot Clan and its leader Karai to comb New York City for the thirteen creatures.

Did you know?!Facts and trivia about TMNT (2007)
Can contain spoilers, watch the movie first.
- TMNT was Mako Iwamatsu's final acting role: he was announced as the voice of Splinter at San Diego Comic-Con on July 20, 2006, and died the next day, aged 72. A dedication to him appears at the end of the film's credits.
- Although Mako is the only actor credited as Splinter, Greg Baldwin performs a substantial portion of the character's dialogue; he had already mimicked Mako's voice as Iroh in Avatar: The Last Airbender and used that precedent to lobby for the part.
