Plot summary

In the Great Valley, Littlefoot, Cera, Ducky, Petrie and Spike live under their families' watchful eyes and resent being treated like babies. After the adults scold them for a reckless stunt in the sinking sand, the friends decide to prove their bravery by venturing into the Mysterious Beyond, the land outside the Valley where Sharpteeth live. On the way they spot Ozzy and Strut, two eggnappers, stealing an egg from Ducky's mother's nest, and they pursue the thieves. A thunderstorm brings a landslide that damages the Great Wall protecting the Valley. In the confusion the stolen egg rolls back to its nest, unnoticed by the children. Farther out, the group finds a larger egg, mistakes it for the stolen one, and carries it home.
