Biography

Steve Buscemi is an American actor who built a career on independent film before becoming a familiar face in mainstream movies. Born in Brooklyn, he first appeared in independent productions such as Parting Glances and Mystery Train, then broke through as Mr. Pink in Quentin Tarantino's Reservoir Dogs (1992). Miller's Crossing (1990) began his long association with the Coen brothers, and Airheads (1994) was his first film with Adam Sandler. During the 1990s he appeared in Living in Oblivion, Desperado, Fargo (1996), Con Air (1997), Armageddon and The Big Lebowski. Later credits include Ghost World (2001), Big Fish (2003), The Death of Stalin (2017) and Hubie Halloween (2020), plus voice roles in Monsters, Inc. and the Hotel Transylvania series. On television he won a Golden Globe for Boardwalk Empire and earned Emmy nominations for The Sopranos. He also directed films including Trees Lounge (1996) and Interview (2007).
