Biography

Allen Covert is a comedian, actor, writer and producer from the United States. His screen debut came as a cruise ship bartender in Going Overboard (1989), which was also Adam Sandler's first cinematic appearance. Covert became a regular in Sandler's films, with parts in Big Daddy (1999), The Wedding Singer (1998), Happy Gilmore (1996) and Little Nicky (2000). He later had smaller roles in I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry (2007) and 50 First Dates (2004). His only lead role came in Grandma's Boy (2006), and he took a supporting part in Strange Wilderness (2008). He also appeared in films outside Sandler's circle, such as Never Been Kissed and Heavyweights. Covert worked as an executive producer and occasional co-writer at Happy Madison Productions, and he contributed to Sandler's comedy albums, often receiving co-songwriting credits. He played himself alongside Adam Sandler in an episode of the TV series Undeclared, and he cofounded Cherry Tree Books, a children's eBook publisher.
