Plot summary
Quentin Tarantino begins his film career while working at Video Archives, a video store. The documentary traces the first twenty-one years of his work as a writer and director. It covers the eight feature films he made during that period. Interviews with actors and other frequent collaborators recall those productions and what it was like to work with him. Tarantino himself does not sit for a new interview, so archival footage and the accounts of others carry the story. The film follows his path from those early days through the making of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Along the way, it shows how he became a modern pop-culture icon.
