Plot summary
In New Orleans, Zandalee Martin runs a boutique and her marriage to Thierry has gone flat. A former poet, Thierry has taken over the family communications business since his father's death and has grown distant, and his wife feels the lack. At a bachelor party he runs into Johnny Collins, an old friend who paints and sells cocaine for a local dealer, and after the party he brings Johnny to meet his wife and Tatta, his grandmother. Talk of old times leads Johnny to offer a portrait of Thierry. Once the painting is finished, Johnny shows it to the family and, sensing Zandalee's frustration, makes a pass at her.
