Plot summary
Gwen Cummings drinks through her nights with her boyfriend, Jasper. The two arrive late and disheveled at the wedding of her sister, Lily, where she knocks over the cake, steals a limousine and crashes it into a house. Her options are jail time or a stay in a rehabilitation center, and she takes the center. There she meets Oliver, a cocaine addict; Daniel, a former doctor; Roshanda, a mother of two; Bobbi Jean; and Gerhardt, a Dutch immigrant, and is assigned teenage heroin addict Andrea as a roommate. Gwen stays angry and resistant, skipping the treatment programs and denying that she is an alcoholic. Flashbacks of her addict mother run through her days at the center.
