Biography

Tom Arnold, an American actor and comedian, grew up in Ottumwa, Iowa. In the early 1980s he performed a prop-based comedy routine and Roseanne Barr later hired him as a writer for her sitcom Roseanne, where he also played Arnie Thomas. In 1992 he headlined his own ABC sitcom, The Jackie Thomas Show, which lasted 18 episodes. He appeared as the partner of Arnold Schwarzenegger's character in True Lies (1994). His film credits include Nine Months (1995), The Stupids (1996), McHale's Navy (1997), Animal Factory (2000), Cradle 2 the Grave (2003), Happy Endings (2005), and Madea's Witness Protection (2012). He took on his first romantic lead in Happy Endings and also starred in The Kid & I. On television he hosted The Best Damn Sports Show Period from 2001 to 2005, voiced Arby's Oven Mitt commercials from 2003 to 2005, and hosted CMT's My Big Redneck Wedding from 2008 to 2011.
