Backfield in Motion (1991) on Netflix

Plot summary

Deerview is a small, old-fashioned town in upstate California, and high school football is the thing the place takes most seriously. Nancy Seavers, a widow who works in real estate, has just moved there with Tim, her teenage son. Among the women of Deerview she stands out, because she is the only one who would rather tell a joke than crack an egg. Once Tim joins the junior-varsity football team, Nancy organizes a mothers-versus-sons football game, and she recruits the town's housewives to play in it. None of those women are athletes, and the game puts the mothers on the field against their boys.
