Plot summary
The Stupids are an average suburban American family, and the weekly theft of their garbage out of the can is, to Stanley and Joan Stupid, proof of a conspiracy. Stanley follows the collection truck to the city dump, where he interrupts Colonel Neidermeyer handing over contraband weapons to a group of terrorists. Neidermeyer decides the intruder is a secret agent who has uncovered the operation and orders him killed. Stanley's last job was at the post office, where all the letters were marked return to sender and he was fired before he learned who Mr. Sender was. He has since built a theory about a villain who intends to take America's mail and its garbage, with the police answering to him.
