Plot summary
Rusty the Labrador and Cheri the Poodle fall for each other on sight when they meet while out jogging in a park. Their owners, Susan and Jake, are not far behind: the two fall in love, and they marry. The marriage gives Susan and Jake the task of turning two households into one, with five children between them. The children fight, the house is in complete chaos, and the romance comes harder for the people than it does for the animals. The dogs that set things going are the ones who can hold the family in one piece.
