Jeffrey Ross

Biography

Jeffrey Ross is a stand-up comic from the United States who also acts, directs and produces, and whose insult-based material earned him the nickname Roastmaster General. Raised in New Jersey, he studied broadcasting and film at Boston University and began performing stand-up in 1989 after taking a comedy class. The New York Friars Club invited him to roast Steven Seagal in 1995, and he became a regular at those events. He roasted Pamela Anderson in 2005, Bob Saget in 2008, Donald Trump in 2011 and Bruce Willis in 2018, and later worked on Netflix roasts of Tom Brady and Kevin Hart. His directing debut, the documentary Patriot Act: A Jeffrey Ross Home Movie, grew out of his comedy tour of Iraq and won best film at Montreal's Comedia festival. He went on to create and host The Burn with Jeff Ross, host Netflix's Historical Roasts, and take acting roles in Stuck on You (2003) and Along Came Polly (2004).
