Tia Carrere
Biography
Tia Carrere, born in Honolulu, is an actress and singer whose first steady television job came on the daytime soap General Hospital, where she appeared as Jade Soong Chung between 1985 and 1987. After the action films Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man (1991) and Showdown in Little Tokyo (1991), she drew wide attention as Cassandra, the rock singer she portrayed in Wayne's World (1992), performing her own songs on its soundtrack, and she reprised the part in Wayne's World 2 (1993). Her films include Juno Skinner in True Lies (1994), a computer expert in Rising Sun (1993), Victoria Chappell in High School High (1996) and a witch queen in Kull the Conqueror (1997). She headlined Relic Hunter as the professor Sydney Fox from 1999 to 2002, voiced Nani in the Lilo & Stitch animated films, and in 2025 played Mrs. Kekoa in the live-action Lilo & Stitch. She has won two Grammy Awards for her Hawaiian albums.
