Plot summary

A documentary about Shep Gordon, who moved to Los Angeles straight out of college and got into music management by chance. In the city he became friends with Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison and Jimi Hendrix, and he handled the careers of Alice Cooper, Blondie, Pink Floyd, Luther Vandross and Teddy Pendergrass. He later took on chefs, among them Emeril Lagasse, a step that helped bring about the era of celebrity chefs on television. The film also covers his personal life, his interest in cooking and producing films, and his Buddhist beliefs, and it draws on interviews with friends and associates from music, film, food and sports.
