Gina Gershon
Biography
Gina Gershon is an American actress and singer who began acting as a teenager and trained at New York University, from which she earned a BFA in drama. She started professionally on stage in Camille and The Substance of Fire, helped found the Naked Angels theater group, and later appeared on Broadway in Cabaret, Boeing-Boeing, and a revival of Bye Bye Birdie. Her screen break came with a small part in Pretty in Pink (1986), followed by roles in Cocktail (1988), Red Heat (1988), and Out for Justice (1991). She became known for Showgirls (1995), Bound (1996), Face/Off (1997), The Insider (1999), and later Killer Joe (2011), P.S. I Love You (2007), Blockers (2018), and Emily the Criminal (2022). On television she had recurring roles in Rescue Me, How to Make It in America, and Riverdale, and she voiced Catwoman in The Batman. She also played jaw harp on recordings and wrote books.

At New York's Circle in the Square Professional Theater School, Gershon studied first under David Mamet, then under Harold Guskin and Sandra Seacat.
