Plot summary
Reiss Gibbons holds the championship in the MMA promotion Legends, with five title wins behind him and manager Reggie handling endorsement deals and movie offers. Max Black, who owns Legends, announces on Stephen Drake's talk show that Reiss will face Randy Stone, a professional wrestling star. Reiss, his wife Ellie and much of the MMA community treat the booking as a publicity stunt, expecting Stone to struggle in mixed martial arts the way other wrestlers have. The announcement draws a large audience, and wrestlers and wrestling organizations answer by backing Stone. A press conference follows, where Stone's remarks about Reiss and Ellie leave Reiss furious and close to a fight, and the bout is set for the next day.
