Plot summary
Grace Bontempo runs the Love Ranch, a legal brothel near Reno, Nevada. Her husband Charlie is its public face; he has a felony record and an aptitude for spending and infidelity. Charlie takes on Armando Bruza, an Argentine heavyweight boxer, as a client, hoping to promote a fight with Muhammad Ali. Charlie's felony convictions keep him from holding a manager's license, so Grace becomes Bruza's manager. Bruza moves into a trailer at the ranch to train, while the IRS and church ladies circle the business. A doctor gives Grace a diagnosis of advanced cancer.
