Plot summary
James Aaron, 39, is an improv actor in the Second City cast in Chicago. He is overweight and does not keep to his diet, and he lives with his mother. He leaves a television prank show after it tricks someone into thinking he has a daughter. Andrea, his girlfriend, ends things with him, and Herb, his agent, drops him. At a friend's daughter's school for Career Day, he talks about his troubles and bores the pupils in front of the teacher, Stella. After walking out on a Compulsive Eaters Anonymous meeting he goes for ice cream and meets Beth.
