Plot summary
Chris Smith deals drugs in West Dallas and owes his supplier Digger Soames six thousand dollars. His mother, Adele, threw him out of her house and took the cocaine he was supposed to sell. Chris drives to the trailer park where his father Ansel lives with his wife Sharla. He proposes killing Adele to collect on her fifty-thousand-dollar life insurance policy, which names his sister Dottie as the only beneficiary. The four of them would split what is left after the killer is paid, and Dottie agrees. The man they want is Joe Cooper, a police detective with a side career as a contract killer. Because Chris and Ansel are broke, Joe asks for twenty-five thousand dollars in advance. Interested in Dottie, he offers to keep her with him as a retainer until the insurance money arrives.
