Plot summary
Clam Dandy is an all-girl punk rock band in Los Angeles. Jacki sings lead, Tracy plays bass, Faith plays lead guitar and Sally plays drums. For more than a decade the four women have played clubs without landing a good record deal. Jacki, who is close to turning forty, earns her living at a tattoo parlor. A producer promises to watch the band play and consider a contract. Jacki resolves that this will be the band's last gig if it brings no success, after which she will give her time to the parlor.
