Harris Yulin
Biography
Harris Yulin was an American actor with more than a hundred film and television roles to his name. Born in Los Angeles in 1937, he took up acting after friends in Tel Aviv urged him to try it and later studied with the coach Jeff Corey. His New York stage debut came in 1963 with Next Time I'll Sing to You, and he went on to appear on Broadway in plays including Watch on the Rhine and The Price. Doc (1971) gave him his first screen part, as Wyatt Earp, and he often played officials and antagonists, among them a corrupt policeman in Scarface (1983), a judge in Ghostbusters II (1989), a national security adviser in Clear and Present Danger (1994), and a Secret Service agent in Rush Hour 2 (2001). Television work brought him a 1996 Emmy nomination for Frasier, and he won a Lucille Lortel Award for his direction of The Trip to Bountiful. He died in 2025.

Yulin directed and taught in New York City. He spent eight years at Juilliard, and also taught at Columbia University's The Graduate School of the Arts and at HB Studio.
