Nicholas Pryor
Biography
Nicholas Pryor was an American character actor who worked in film, television and stage. Born in Baltimore in 1935, he was an original cast member of the soap opera Another World in 1964, playing Tom Baxter, and in 1973 he became the second actor to play Joel Gantry on The Edge of Night. His early films included Smile (1975) and The Gumball Rally (1976), where he played the nervous professor Samuel Graves, and he was Joel Goodson's father in Risky Business (1983) and Julian Wells's estranged father in Less Than Zero (1987). Other credits included Damien: Omen II (1978), Airplane! (1980), Executive Decision (1996) and The Chamber (1996). On television, his most prominent role was the chancellor of California University, A. Milton Arnold, on Beverly Hills, 90210 from 1994 to 1997, and he later played Victor Collins on General Hospital and Port Charles. Pryor died in 2024.
