Plot summary
A quantum physics textbook author in Miami, Zoya Lowe has one week left to live. A black hole is growing in her chest, and the pills she found at twelve, which she once used to better her life, send her back five days at a time, so she has lived this week many times over. The cycles she spends with her husband Donald, her daughter Jayne and her son-in-law Morris have stopped changing anything, so Zoya returns to her old research on the pills. Paula, a research assistant who studies time at a local community college, agrees to help her. Each cycle Zoya slips out of the hospital and away from her family, hoping the two of them can send her back far enough to alter her past.
