Plot summary
Nathan Fisher is a failed writer in Brooklyn, and his girlfriend has just broken up with him. He travels to Florida to visit his parents, Sandy and Bob. Sandy has Alzheimer's, and Bob has recently had a stroke. The story is a comedy, and its title comes from a work of philosophy by Emil Cioran, though it is not an adaptation of that book.
