Biography
Kiefer Sutherland is a British and Canadian actor who became widely known for playing Jack Bauer in the Fox series 24, a role that earned him a Primetime Emmy and a Golden Globe. Born in London to the actors Donald Sutherland and Shirley Douglas, he earned a Genie Award nomination for his first leading film part, the Canadian drama The Bay Boy (1984). His film credits include The Lost Boys (1987), Flatliners (1990), A Few Good Men (1992), Freeway (1996) and Dark City (1998), while he later appeared in Phone Booth (2003), Melancholia (2011) and The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial (2023). On television he also led Touch and Designated Survivor, and he has voiced characters in the Metal Gear Solid V games. He released the country album Down in a Hole in 2016, and his honors include stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Canada's Walk of Fame.
