Plot summary
Frankie is a small-time errand man for the mob, taking orders from Sal, a sadistic boss, and working alongside Sal's sidekick, Vic. Frankie nurses plans to climb the organization and settle with Sal. He visits a porn set where his friend Joey, who went to film school and owes Sal money, is directing. There he meets Margaret, a one-time junkie who now wants to be taken seriously as an actress. She came to Los Angeles for an acting career, and hard times led her into drugs and prostitution. Frankie grows fixated on her and sets himself the job of pulling her out of that life and out of Sal's reach.
