Plot summary

A policeman, Ross Sylibus, takes a post in a unit on a Martian colony. Women there are being murdered, and the man the unit is hunting is a psychotic named D'anclaude. Sylibus is given a partner, Naomi Armitage, an officer whose methods are unorthodox. She patrols the colony's metropolis, and she seems to have ties to the women who have been killed. The two of them take on the search for D'anclaude, putting themselves at risk as they track him.
