Plot summary
A blind woman in a New Mexico village trips over a human hand in the desert sand. Picking it up, she can see, and she calls it a miracle. The hand belongs to Candy. Tex, the village butcher, killed his wife and buried her body in the desert. Crowds arrive hoping to be healed, and Tex sets out to take the hand back. Patrol officer Bobo, one of Candy's lovers, chases him.
