Biography

John DiMaggio is an American actor who built a career largely in voice work after starting out in stand-up comedy and impressions. Born in 1968 and raised in North Plainfield, New Jersey, he acted in theater productions at North Plainfield High School and studied theater at Rutgers University before leaving during his junior year. He decided to pursue voice acting after becoming friends with Zak Orth. DiMaggio is best known for voicing Bender on Futurama and Jake the Dog on Adventure Time. His other roles include Marcus Fenix in the Gears of War games, Dr. Drakken on Kim Possible, Wakka and Kimahri in Final Fantasy X, and Niblet on Pound Puppies. On screen, he played Steve Ballmer in the docudrama Pirates of Silicon Valley (1999) and had a recurring part on Chicago Hope. In 2013 he executive produced and narrated I Know That Voice, a documentary about voice acting.
