Plot summary
Four friends in their twenties are single, and their own attempts at romance keep going nowhere. On a ski trip, one of them meets a young woman after an accident on the icy slopes, and the others credit the mishap for the romance. They soon settle on a theory: a date frightening enough will produce love, and they act on it. So the friends start arranging extreme dates for one another with the people they have in mind, and after a couple of near-successes the group goes for broke with an elaborate kidnapping scheme that they are sure cannot miss.
