Plot summary
Cis belongs to the humans who walked out of the Matrix, and she spends her days improving her skills inside a virtual training program. She is in the middle of a samurai sword fight when Duo, another human, joins her without warning, and the two spar. When they stop, Duo opens a discussion about the doubt that he says visits every person at some point, whether the decision to leave the Matrix was the right one, given the carefree life left behind. He assures Cis that nobody can listen in on them, because he has cut off all communication with the interface. Cis tells him that she has had doubts of her own.
