Plot summary
Lincoln Loud is excited for the island wedding of his Gran-Gran Myrtle and his grandfather Albert. He is fascinated by Myrtle's past: she worked as Agent 28, a spy who once beat the villain Dr. Rufus Dufus. Against her wishes he packs his David Steele spy equipment, and she puts him in charge of the wedding rings. The family flies to a tropical resort, where Lincoln meets Fifi, who is irritated by the Louds. On a fishing trip, Lincoln sees suspicious activity and tries to take pictures. Henchmen attack, Myrtle fights them off, and the camera is lost. Myrtle tells him to stay out of any mission and says the family will leave the island. Lincoln tells her superior, X, that they will take on the mission behind her back.

- The crew of No Time to Spy took inspiration from several James Bond films and tried to mirror their pacing and structure, and the villain Ham Hand was modeled on Jaws, the henchman who first appeared in The Spy Who Loved Me (1977).
- Composer Jonathan Hylander drew heavily on John Barry's work on the Bond film Thunderball (1965) when writing the score for the film, and Hylander also wrote its opening song.
