Plot summary
Eleven years old in 1976, Gru lives in the suburbs and is set on becoming a supervillain. The Minions work for him: Kevin, Stuart, Bob, and Otto, a newcomer with braces who is eager to please. They build a first lair together and test a first set of weapons. The Vicious 6, the supervillain group that Belle Bottom now leads, is looking for someone to fill the place of its founder, Wild Knuckles, whom the group has ousted. Gru, a fan of the team, gets an invitation to audition and wants to show he is evil enough to join. The Minions serve as his backup as he prepares.
