Dino Time (2012) on Netflix

Plot summary

Daredevil Ernie Fitzpatrick lives in Terra Dino with his little sister Julia, his best friend Max Santiago, and their overprotective mother Sue, who has just been named mother of the year. Ernie slips out to Max's house, where Max's father, Dr. Santiago, has spent four years trying to start a time machine he built. Julia follows him there, and when the boys try to stop her from calling Sue, Ernie spills soda on the controls and the machine carries the three of them back to the age of the dinosaurs. A Tyrannosaurus named Tyra, who runs an orphanage, takes the children in, though the other dinosaurs doubt three kids can protect them from the Sarcosuchus brothers, Sarco and Surly, who want the upper valley for their own. In the present, Sue and Dr. Santiago find the children gone.
