Princess Mononoke (1997) on Netflix

Plot summary

In Muromachi-era Japan, Ashitaka, the last prince of the Emishi, kills a demonized boar god to protect his village and is left with a curse on his arm. Told that it will kill him, he is exiled to the west to uncover the source of the boar god's hatred and find a cure. The monk Jigo tells him to seek answers in the mountains. Guided by kodama, he crosses the forest of the gods. He reaches Irontown, a settlement that has cut down the surrounding woods to mine iron; it shelters former prostitutes who stoke its furnaces and people with leprosy who make firearms. Its leader, Lady Eboshi, has driven off wolves led by the goddess Moro and San, the human daughter Moro raised.
