Richard Alexander

Biography

Richard Alexander was an American film character actor who spent his career largely in uncredited parts, yet still appeared in a long string of pictures. Born in Dallas, Texas, in 1902, he took the lead in All Quiet on the Western Front (1930) and was seen in features such as Babes in Toyland (1934) and The Gladiator. He also worked in film serials, among them Flash Gordon (1936) and Zorro Rides Again, and he appeared in countless productions over the course of his career. Even though his output was enormous, most of his appearances went uncredited, and he was rarely named on screen. Alexander died in 1989 at the age of 86.
