Stanley Blystone
Biography
Stanley Blystone was an American film actor whose career ran from 1924 to 1956 and took in more than 500 screen appearances. He was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and spent time as a steel production engineer and in ore mines before he turned to performing. At times he was credited as William Blystone or William Stanley. He was best known for playing Paulette Goddard's father in Charlie Chaplin's Modern Times (1936), and for a string of short comedies with The Three Stooges, including Half Shot Shooters, False Alarms, Goofs and Saddles, Three Little Twirps and Slaphappy Sleuths. Of Cash and Hash, released in 1955, was his last outing with the trio. He also worked in several films alongside Laurel and Hardy. Blystone died in 1956.
