Plot summary
Kurt Fabian, the trader at Dry Gulch, lends the settlers money against their mortgages to pay for an irrigation program. Three Texas Rangers, Tex Wyatt, Jim Steele and Panhandle Perkins, carry the money in a strong box to the Wells Fargo office and place it in the safe. Wells Fargo agent Sam Benson tells them that he alone knows the safe combination. After Benson's arrest, a citizens' committee led by Oscar Perrin tells Captain Wyatt that his Rangers were careless, and the Captain must resign unless the money comes back. Fabian also owns the ghost town of Mystic, which stands abandoned.
