Plot summary
Verna Wilson, a gold-digging actress, demands $100,000 from her married backer, John Randolph Sr., by threatening to tell his wife, Jane, that the two are more than professional. Dick Randolph, the backer's son, talks his mother out of leaving the marriage and sets out to learn the truth about Verna. He and the family chauffeur, Larry, then board a steamship sailing for Europe, where Verna is a passenger, and pretend to be wealthy playboys so she will try her scheme on them. Verna warms to Dick without realizing who he is. Two of her associates from before, a former lover and a former manager, are also on the ship.
