Biography

Jason Isaacs is an English actor, born in Liverpool in 1963, who trained in London and became known for character roles, especially villains, in independent films and blockbusters. His film debut came in a small part in The Tall Guy (1989), and he later appeared in Event Horizon (1997), Armageddon (1998), The Patriot (2000), Black Hawk Down (2001), Peter Pan (2003), Fury (2014) and The Death of Stalin (2017). He is best known for playing Lucius Malfoy in the Harry Potter series from 2002 to 2011. On television he took roles in Brotherhood, Awake, The OA and Star Trek: Discovery. His performance in The White Lotus (2025) brought Primetime Emmy and Golden Globe nominations, and his stage credits include Angels in America. He has received an Empire Award and an Independent Spirit Award.
