Plot summary
Emma Wishbone runs a bookstore that is in financial trouble, and her family is drifting apart. Her son Max is bullied at school, her daughter Fay is a teenager wrapped up in herself, and her husband Frank is overworked and distant. Emma accidentally phones Count Dracula while trying to reach a costume shop. The lonely vampire decides to make her his bride and asks the witch Baba Yaga to curse Emma into a vampire. Emma's friend Cheyenne gives the family tickets to a costume party. Emma's costume is a vampire; Frank's is Frankenstein's monster; Fay's is a mummy and Max's is a werewolf. Security throws them out, Emma breaks down, and Baba Yaga casts her curse. Because the whole family is unhappy, all four transform into the creatures they dressed as.
