Plot summary
In an alternate universe, three very different heroes make up the Justice League. Superman is Hernan Guerra, the son of Zod, brought up by Mexican immigrants in hard conditions. Batman is Kirk Langstrom, a doctor who lives as a vampire and keeps hunting a cure for his condition. Wonder Woman is Bekka, a widowed queen from the world of Darkside. The three work outside the law, often killing the villains they face but never civilians, and the government tolerates them. Public anger at their methods grows. Then government scientists are murdered in ways that echo the League's own violence, and Amanda Waller, the president, orders the team arrested. The three resist, intending to find whoever is behind the killings themselves.
