Anjelica Huston
Biography
Anjelica Huston is an American actress who often played eccentric or unusual characters and has won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe, along with BAFTA and Emmy nominations. Born in Los Angeles to the director John Huston, she began acting in his 1969 film A Walk with Love and Death, then worked as a model through the 1970s before returning to acting. Her breakthrough came as Maerose in Prizzi's Honor (1985), a Mafia daughter, which earned her the Oscar for best supporting actress. She became known for the Grand High Witch in The Witches (1990), a con artist in The Grifters (1990), Morticia Addams in the Addams Family films (1991 to 1993), and parts in Wes Anderson's The Royal Tenenbaums (2001), The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2004) and The Darjeeling Limited (2007). On television she won a Golden Globe for Iron Jawed Angels (2004), and she directed Bastard Out of Carolina (1996) and Agnes Browne (1999).

For Morticia, whose eyes needed to slant upward at the sides, an elastic strap was fixed to the back of Huston's head with fabric tabs glued at her temples. The bands snapped at the slightest turn of her head, so she learned to turn on her feet while keeping her upper body and head still.
