Plot summary
The Supreme Leader is a witch, and the world she governs is dark, desolate and mechanical. Captain EO is dispatched there with a ragtag crew whose errand is to hand her a gift, a song and dance. Robots number among those who travel with him. The captain sings and dances as the mission proceeds. The production used 70mm 3D photography, and its action was built to reach out of the screen into the auditorium, with lasers, smoke and starfields synchronized to the images. An estimated $30 million went into the production, at the time the most expensive film ever made on a per-minute basis.
